I really put the pressure on my girls to eat healthy and it is a constant struggle. They are so attracted to quick, easy, ready-to-eat foods that my words fall on deaf ears much of the time. I get it. Easy foods are just so convenient.
I have my own weaknesses with food. Every now and then I find a package of Lays Potato Chips and Dean’s French Onion Dip in the refrigerator and I must indulge myself. For some reason, once I open the bag and dive in, I am unable to stop until I have eaten what feels like my body weight in chips & dip. The combination of cool, creamy, salty, crunchy are just too difficult to resist.
How do I expect my kids to heed my words about eating healthy when I am also weak when it comes to certain foods? Why is it this combination of snack foods that does me in?
What foods are your weaknesses? Do you dive right in when the temptation pops up or are you able to moderate your intake? How do you teach your kids about proper eating habits?
